GENCON 2025:
Roll for Design
2025 - Print, Poster, Typography, Multichannel
As part of a school project, I was tasked with designing a poster for GenCon 2025 that centered typography as the main visual element, moving away from the illustration-heavy style of previous materials.
The goal was to create a design that functioned both as an eye-catching promotional piece and a collectible item for convention attendees.
The final poster served as the foundation for a cohesive GenCon 2025 design system. Its bold typography and playful grid-based shapes were adapted across badges, banners, and billboards, creating a flexible visual identity that captures the vibrant, inclusive energy of the tabletop gaming community.
Through research and exploration, I tested several stylistic approaches, including gridded soft shapes, symbolic tabletop-inspired icons, layered collages, and integrated typography. The final design elevates type as the focus of the composition, combining boldness and playfulness to capture the inclusive and energetic spirit of the tabletop gaming community and the excitement of the GenCon 2025 Convention.
